Cass Keen is the Executive Director of the Riverside Nature Center. She has been Executive Director since November 2004. She began her time at RNC in February 2004 as a volunteer in the educational programs and in the office. She moved to Kerrville in December 2001 with her husband who had recently accepted the position of Personnel Director for the Kerrville State Hospital. She and her husband, Jay, have been married for over 34 years, and they have two grown children. Cass and Jay moved to Texas from Illinois in 1978, and they lived in the Houston area for over 25 years. Cass was a public school teacher and building principal for 29 years prior to moving here. She has had the wonderful opportunity to work with students in grades Pre-K through 12.
In 1997, Cass received national recognition from the HOSTS Reading Corporation as their national “Administrator of the Year”. During her time as a teacher and as an administrator, she was nominated to be included in both the “Who’s Who of America’s Teachers and Who’s Who of America’s Administrators”.
